Position Profiles

Gallang Place offers the services of qualified and experienced counsellors in the following roles:

  • Womens' Counsellor:

    Counsels women in the areas of grief and loss, sexual abuse, relationship issues, depression, family violence, addictions/substance abuse self-esteem etc.

  • Mens' Counsellor:

    provides counselling to young and adult males in areas of grief and loss, abuses, anger management, family violence, addiction/substance abuse, relationship issues, sexual abuse etc.

  • Youth Counsellors:

    Counsels children and youth in the areas of grief and loss, suicide ideation, depression, relationship, self-esteem, anger management, family violence, sexual abuse, substance abuse, behavioural issues etc

  • Senior Counsellors:

    Provide counselling and supervision and debriefing to junior staff/counsellors.

  • Program Managers:

    Provide supervision and debriefing sessions to staff, manage case plans and monitor training requirements.

  • Suicide Prevention Project Officer:

    Develops, implements, facilitates and reviews programs for Indigenous suicide prevention.

  • Youth Support Coordinator:

    Provides support to youth and their families, who are at risk of disengaging from the senior year of education system.

Alternatives to Aggression Workshops

Gallang Place is also funded to provide Alternatives to Aggression Workshops. The Workshops are delivered in the Community as well as in Correctional Centres.
